Emergency Water Main Repair on Christmas Day: Crazy Horse Break

A Fry Road MUD water main on Crazy Horse has broken.

Inframark is dispatching a crew to excavate and repair the line. To do so, the water service to homes in the vicinity of the break will be suspended.

Once this section of water main is isolated, the crew will be able to dig down to expose the line, assess the damage, and make whatever repairs are necessary. As soon as the water main is repaired, water pressure will be restored to the area, and the system will be flushed to ensure water quality is preserved for everyone.

New Sewer and Water Rates Effective January 1st, 2024

The Fry Road Municipal Utility District has recently adopted a new rate order, effective from December 19, 2023.

This resolution outlines revised rates and regulations for water and sewer services within the district, impacting both residential and commercial connections. Key highlights include updated monthly service rates, additional fees, and clear guidelines for maintaining service lines.

The document emphasizes the district’s commitment to providing efficient services while ensuring transparency and fairness in billing. Water Main Break on North Pecos Valley

A Fry Road MUD water main on North Pecos Valley, east of Snake River, has broken.

Tax Rate Set – 2023

The Board of Directors of Fry Road MUD (the district) voted to decrease the MUD Property Tax Rate of $0.363 per $100 valuation from the 2022 tax year to $0.32782 per $100 valuation for 2023.  Please keep in mind this rate is for the district only.

The district has authorized Bob Leared Interests, the tax assessor-collector, to mail duplicate tax statements in January 2024. These statements will be mailed to homeowners whose original tax statement was requested by and mailed to a mortgage company AND remains unpaid at the time of the January mailing.  If you receive a DUPLICATE TAX STATEMENT, this is your reminder to contact your mortgage company to ensure timely payment of your MUD taxes by January 31, 2024.

**The Fry Road MUD tax statements contain a QR code.  When scanned with a smartphone, the QR code links directly to the account on the tax assessor website where payment can be made.**

You can view, make payments, and print receipts for the district property taxes online at www.bli-tax.com.   There is an additional processing fee when making online payments.  This website is not associated with any DOXO website.  If paying your taxes using a DOXO website, you will incur higher processing fees.

In addition to paying online, payment can be made by calling OPAY Customer Service at (800)487-4567 between the hours of 7:00 am and 7:00 pm CST.  Select the customer service option, then tell the representative you are calling to pay TEXAS taxes.  You will then need to provide your entire account number which begins with “163” There is an additional processing fee when making payments by phone.

If you have not received your 2023 Fry Road MUD tax statement by the end of November, and you are unable to locate your account online at www.bli-tax.com, please contact the tax assessor-collector at 713-932-9011 to discuss your tax account.  Failure to receive a tax statement will not extend the delinquency date of February 1, 2024, and does not meet the legal requirements to waive penalties or interest which will be added if payment is not made in full by the due date.

Notice of Public Hearing on Tax Rate

The FRY ROAD M.U.D. will hold a public hearing on a proposed tax rate for the tax year 2023 on October 17, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at Fry Road District Administration Building, 20111 Saums Road, Katy, TX 77449. Your individual taxes may increase at a greater or lesser rate, or even decrease, depending on the tax rate that is adopted and on the change in the taxable value of your property in relation to the change in taxable value of all other property. The change in the taxable value of your property in relation to the change in the taxable value of all other property determines the distribution of the tax burden among all property owners.

Water Update: Fry Road MUD’s Independent Water System Operating within Parameters

Fry Road MUD’s water infrastructure is not tied to Houston or Katy water systems. Fry Road has an independent water system that is operating within parameters and is not currently under water restrictions.

Fry Road MUD’s operator is closely monitoring the system and will let residents know via the website and text alerts if the situation changes.

Due to the sustained heat during daylight hours, it is suggested to water lawns when it is dark outside, either late in the evening or early in the morning, to an inch depth, every couple of days. This can be measured by using an empty tuna can or other small, inch-tall container to measure the amount of water distributed by your sprinklers.

The repair of the water main at Fort Bridger Drive is complete.

Crews are restoring the area and flushing the water lines to ensure water quality.
